First look at the Assassin’s Creed movie

The first shot for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film is here showing Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender in full Assassin garb. Fassbender will be playing a brand new character for the series, Callum Lynch, a man who discovers his link to an ancestor through unlocked genetic memories. As fans of the series will tell you, this allows the characters to relive the murderous ways of their ancestors. Lynch’s ancestor is Aguilar, a member of the secret Assassin society in 15th Century Spain.

Australian director, Justin Kurzel (Snowtown), takes the reigns of this huge budget video game adaptation. Assassin’s Creed also stars Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (Inception, La Vie en Rose), Michael Kenneth (12 Years a Slave) and Ariane Labed (Before Midnight). Filming starts on Monday in Malta, London and Spain.

Kurzel has worked with both Fassbender and Cotillard on the upcoming MacBeth which has been receiving stellar reviews. Will Kurzel be the director to help break the terrible video game film adaptation curse? Well, we’ll have to wait to find out when Assassin’s Creed hits screens around the world in December 2016.

Andrew was nameless for the first week of his life. His parents were too busy trying to figure out the character creation model that they forgot to name him. Unfortunately, they molded him into a bearded film loving idiot who runs The Last New Wave and AB Film Review with his wife as well as talks about games every so often. Sometimes he knows stuff, most of the time he’s an idiot.

    You had me at Fassbender

    • Fan of him in Shame huh?

      • Dave C Haldane

        Nope, never seen shame.

        • Well, that’s a pity.

I’ve seen Frank though? Do I get points for that?

          • This is not a game Dave. Your points are not redeemable for anything.
Have you seen X-Men: Days of Future Past? He is very good in that as Magnetic Man.
He’s also very good in Slow West.
            He’s also very handsome.

Yeah I thought he did a great impression of Jean-Luc in X-Men! I totally bought that he couldn’t move his legs!

          • Did you know that Fassbender was Oscar nominated for playing the 12 Years in 12 Years a Slave?
