Ubisoft Developing RL Next-Gen Theme Park

Combining their portfolio of brands with their expertise in interactive gaming experiences, Ubisoft have announced that it is developing a next-generation theme park. Teaming up with RSG Ubisoft aims to revolutionize guests’ journeys. The project is being led by Ubisoft Motion Pictures, who has a successful track record of expanding Ubisoft’s game brands to theme parks with the launch of the award-winning* Rabbids Dark Ride at French park Futuroscope.

Together we are creating a place where every guest is a player, every ride is a playground, every visit is a game. In RSG, we’ve found a partner with a successful track record in working with international brands, a shared ambition to design the family destination of the future, and a wealth of expertise in theme park development

– Jean de Rivières – Senior vice president – Ubisoft Motion Pictures

The planned 10,000 square meter development will be located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – second most visited country in Asia – and will feature innovative rides, attractions and shows inspired by some of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, such as Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance and Rabbids. Hopefully they’ll also expand this to include Rayman as I’m sure there are a lot of fans out there who’d love to see a “Land of the Living Dead” themed ride! The park is expected to open in 2020.

RSG is committed to redefining family fun, and video games have taken an increasingly central role in entertainment for all ages. Partnering with Ubisoft means we’ll work with their creative teams to develop the first of what we believe will be a revolutionary new theme park experience. We are confident that this partnership agreement highly benefits both parties and consolidates our presence in the global family entertainment market.

– Ramelle Ramli – Chairman – RSG

There are two things I love in life... playing games and my family. I work three jobs; one to pay the bills, another as a video game designer at C117 Games, and, of course, here - at Another Dungeon. I own almost every console since the Atari 7800 and am proud of my extensive collection of games. I'm more of a single or coop player but I do dabble in multiplayer on the odd occasion. Tabletop wise I prefer strategic games like Five Tribes or Small World. If you want to have a game or just chat feel free to add me, PM me or email me.
  • I’d go. If they had a Rayman ride. Naturally.
